BIRMINGHAM GAS EXPLOSION

Forty people were evacuated from a street in Birmingham in a gas explosion which destroyed an unoccupied house.

The blast happened at 1540 BST on Holly Road, in the Handsworth area of the city.

2 FRS USAR canine teams were requested by West Midlands FRS to attend this incident.

- Chris Pritchard & Gemma from Leicestershire FRS

- Neil Woodmansey & Hollie from Lincolnshire FRS

Both teams worked in conjunction with West Midlands FRS and their USAR team to ascertain that there were no persons trapped.
