HANDLERS / CANINE DAY PACK

Functions of a “day Pack”

 

bullet

 50 litre in size (International work especially) 

bullet

 Waterproof

bullet

 Must be able to carry all your essential items to enable you to be operationally ready

bullet

 Should stay with you at all times

bullet

 Small enough for hand luggage

bullet

 Carry at least 24hrs worth of rations.

bullet

 Minimum weight.

 

Canine Equipment

 

bullet 

Human / Canine first Aid kit
bullet Lead, collar & muzzle (muzzle for administering first aid if dog is severely injured)
bullet Warm dog jacket & towel for temperate countries
bullet Water for dog & handler  minimum of 2 litres for temperate countries, 4 litres for sub-tropical / tropical countries plus collapsible bowel
bullet 18 feet of personal safety line 10mm with 2 x crabs (karabiners) Edge Protection Harness  
bullet Safety lift harnesses  for dog & handler when working at height (team item) 
bullet 2 x night sticks for dog's harness
bullet An additional 6 x night sticks to be carried and used to clearly mark the central point of the dogs indication or strong point of interest for the follow up search teams to locate easily.
bullet Dog's working harness / jacket (high visibility)
bullet A set of protective dog boots
